Dragons, Daffodils and Disney!
Celebrate St David's Day in style at Disneyland® Resort Paris with this fantastic festival of all things Welsh. Join Mickey and Minnie in their best Welsh outfits for a full programme of events that includes:

•Welsh Music festival – in conjunction with Disney Magic Music Days • Rock the night away with up and coming Welsh bands in Disney® Village
•Welsh Craft and Street market – tempting treats to try and buy
•Face painting – treat the little ones to a daffodil or dragon makeover
•Spectacular red, white and green fireworks show over Sleeping Beauty Castle on Saturday, 1st March


St David's Welsh Festival

4 - 6 March 2011

Celebrate St David's Day in style at Disneyland® Resort Paris with this fantastic festival of all things Welsh. Mickey and Minnie set the scene and dress up in their best Welsh outfits for the occasion. Inspired by the land of towering mountains and green valleys, this full and fun packed programme successfully combines all the elements of this amazing country to create a truly unique experience for the whole family.

In conjunction with Disney Magic Music Days, hear the music of Wales echo out around Disneyland® Park and Disney® Village with concerts, choirs and performances – all part of the Welsh Music Festival... Rock to the beat of the up and coming bands in Disney® Village. For a fantastic finale to the day on Saturday, 5 March, watch the spectacular fireworks in Welsh national colours light up the night sky over Sleeping Beauty Castle. It's red, white and green as you've never, ever seen!

Welsh Music & Dance Festival

A medley of Welsh song and dance will flow through the Disneyland Resort, from the Disneyland Park, where both adult and youth amateur performing groups will entertain the crowds, as part of the Disney Magic Music Days programme, to the Disney Village, where artists/acts may include anything from folklore dancers to modern pop and rock groups! Performances can be found in various locations within the Disney Village, such as, Billy Bob's Country Western Saloon at Disney Village.

Traditional Welsh Choir

A Welsh Male Voice Choir will perform a repertoire of traditional and popular songs, underneath the majestic backdrop of Sleeping Beauty's Castle. Performances will be held throughout the day on both Friday and Saturday in Disneyland® Park.

Mingle with the crowds in a Welsh street festival atmosphere. Welsh menu available in Disney Village.

mi dimentico sempre di questa festa...

anche io forse perche' a noi italiani non dice nulla

Anche se è una festa lontana dalle nostre tradizioni e, come molti hanno già detto, non ci sfiora nemmeno il pensiero della ricorrenza, a me piacerebbe andare al parco per vedere come festeggiano quel giorno... chissà, magari un giorno!

A me di ste feste, non me ne può fregà de meno!!!! Poi, come dissi già un'altra volta, perchè S.Patrizio o S. Davide e non S.Nicola o S. Gennaro!!! Lo so che in Galles ed in Irlanda sono feste importanti, ma anche da noi S. Nicola e S. Gennaro sono feste non importanti......di più!!!!

E' vero, pero' mi sembra almeno per San Gennaro che il tipo di devozione o festeggiamenti sia diverso. E poi vuoi mettere tutti questi uomini in gonnella?

bè insomma il folklore e l'aspetto estetico sono importanti, con tutto il rispetto per chi festeggia san gennaro o san nicola, ma san patrick ha una sua particolarità scenica che lo rende decisamente più adatto ad un parco divertimenti, non si può negare...

inoltre anche la tempistica è importante: spezza un periodo che per il parco è totalmente morto.

a me piace molto, un anno mi piacerebbe andare a vedere il festival.

Allora France' invito te e Stefano per il prossimo S. Nicola festa che dura 15 giorni, ma i giorni clou vanno dal 7 al 9 maggio...poi riparliamo di folklore e di aspetto estetico!!
Sicuramente queste feste celtiche hanno risonanza nazionale nei loro paesi di origine, ma sinceramente non vedo la necessità di festeggiarle in un parco a tema dove va gente da tutta europa o da tutto il mondo!!
La mia per S. Nicola o S. Gennaro era una provocazione, perchè credo che se dovessero decidere di festeggiare S.Nicola in un parco divertimenti la cittadinanza barese, io per primo, insorgerebbe!!!!!

appunto Giò, mentre san patrick è una festa che si presta ad essere ricordata anche in un parco divertimenti...basta pensare che i mc donald's irlandesi fanno dei frappè verdi apposta per la ricorrenza!

comunque secondo me l'hanno scelta semplicemente perché spezza un periodo praticamente morto, in cui non c'è un'attrattiva stagionale vera e propria!

Io questa festa l'ho vissuta per diversi anni al parco e devo dire che la prima volta è passata quasi inosservata, cioè non mi sono nemmeno accorta non fosse stato per i CM xon il cappotto verde e i fuochi del sabato sera.
Invece il marzo scorso l'ho vissuta di più vuoi perchè alloggiavo al Sequoia, dove alloggiavano anche molti gallesi, che la sera, davanti al camino, facevano dei cori stupendi, ed anche perchè essendo obbligata a passare per il village per raggiungere il parco e viceversa passavamo accanto a tutte le bancarelle gallesi allestite proprio per l'occasione.
Io non credo che al parco festeggeranno mai San Gennaro o San Nicola , quindi dobbiamo accantentarci di San Davide!!!

Ci sono anche le bancarelle tipiche?? wow...che bello

io la penso come Gio, dovrebbero dare visibilità anche a qualche nostra festa...al parco andiamo anche noi italiani!!

se valorizzano questa festa nazionale avranno i loro motivi. Forse in europa è sentita anche in altri paesi...

Max secondo me potrebbe dipendere dall'affluenza di Guests dalla Gran Bretagna... sicuramente maggiore!
Però sarebbe carino fare anche un Festival Italiano ed uno Tedesco nelle stagioni morte!!!
